Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Custom WordPress Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of WordPress theme development, theme customization, and plugin development. You will be responsible for creating and customizing WordPress themes and plugins to meet our clients' unique needs, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Custom WordPress Theme Development: Design and develop custom WordPress themes from scratch, ensuring responsiveness and modern UX/UI practices.
- Theme Customization: Modify existing themes to suit project requirements, adjusting layouts, colors, and functionalities as needed.
- Plugin Development: Create, modify, and maintain WordPress plugins to add custom functionalities.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify and fix bugs in themes and plugins, ensuring seamless user experience.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure themes and plugins are optimized for speed and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the design and project management teams to understand project goals and implement creative solutions.
- Security: Implement best practices to ensure WordPress sites are secure and free from vulnerabilities.
- Version Control: Use version control tools (e.g., Git) to manage and track development progress.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum [X] years of experience in WordPress theme development, customization, and plugin development.
- Proficiency in:
- PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and MySQL.
- WordPress architecture, including hooks, actions, and filters.
- Front-end technologies such as Bootstrap, Tailwind, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with:
- WooCommerce and other WordPress plugins.
- Page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg.
- Version Control: Experience using Git or other version control systems.
- SEO Best Practices: Knowledge of on-page SEO and how to implement SEO-friendly code.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RESTful APIs and AJAX in WordPress.
- Familiarity with multisite WordPress installations.
- Understanding of website security best practices, such as SSL and HTTPS configuration.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
