Job Description
The Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP) is looking for an IT Officer in Karachi. Below are the details of the responsibilities that an incumbent has to perform under this position:-
Duties & Responsibilities:-
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners, and more for different OS environments like Windows, Mac, and Linux (UBUNTU)
- Investigating, diagnosing, and solving computer software and hardware faults
- Repairing computer equipment and replacing parts.
- Checking computer equipment for electrical safety.
- Managing inventory of computer equipment and other I.T supplies
- Installation and configuration of the Internet, Firewall & server handling,
- Exploring Windows software to install in Linux OS (UBUNTU) using third-party tools
Maintaining and providing support to staff to search archived images using Extensis Database Software.
- Troubleshoot, configure and maintain storage devices like Raid and My Books
- Assist in designing a newsletter for the website.
- Create design prototypes, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content, for CAP’s web-based applications and corporate website.
- Perform maintenance and updates to the existing website.
- Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, and standards.
· Able to monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as necessary.
- The position requires constant communication with other departments, especially the Creative Department.
Requirements:-
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, HTML, DHTML, XHTML, HTML5 and AI to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, SQL, BootStrap etc.
- Website development and design experience.
- Familiarity with WordPress Mailchimp to maintain and create a subscriber list for CAP’s newsletter.
- Experience with Adobe Flash.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues.
