Information Technology Project Manager

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Understanding of Project Scope and its Deliverables.
Implement Project Management Institute (PMI) standards.
Strong background to manage project implementation of large-scale projects.
Act as a bridge between vendor and stakeholders to ensure timely communication/meetings, followed by well-defined action items and action owners.
Prepare Communication Plan, Stakeholder Management Plan, and Risk Management Plan.
Ensure an exhaustive plan from the vendor that focuses on Project Phases and their deliverables, development, integration of existing systems, installation & deployment, quality assurance & training services, and active support in change management.
task execution by vendors and proactively mitigate possible delays.
Ensure timely project deliverables from the vendor such as Project Inception, Infrastructure Requirements, Software Design, and Integrations documents.
Prepare Escalation Matrix and inform stakeholders timely about any variation in the project baseline.
Use technology to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the schedule, progress, and issues in the project.
Ensure timely approval/feedback on deliverables from Internal or External Stakeholders.
Review project deliverables from the vendor with the project team and make sure UAT signoff before production deployment and rollout.
Promptly acknowledge and resolve issues/queries raised by any stakeholder.
Keep track of project progress, deadlines, and open issues and Communicate project status to stakeholders and key project participants.
Communicate with project team (such as Domain Management/Software Development/Networks and Infrastructure etc.) and Senior Management for providing visibility of project progress and to answer vendor questions.
Organize catch-up calls regularly to get updates on progress, discuss any urgent issues and get clarity on vague ideas, constraints, dependency & assumptions.
Monitor the quality of work performed by external vendors to ensure that it meets standards.
Prepare status reports by gathering, analysing, and summarizing relevant information.
Monthly Review Deliverables from the vendor such as Updated Business Requirements Specification, Updated Software Requirements Specification, Updated System Technical Architecture & Development, and deployment of developed services.
Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as per the defined scope to enable successful implementation.
Be aware of vendor’s strengths and weaknesses.
Previous experience managing vendors/contractors would be highly preferred.
Requirements:

Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities to deal with cross-functional team issues.
Excellent understanding of the software development cycle.
Ability to recognize technical, management, and cost risks and recommend mitigation approaches.
Previous software development and release management experience.
Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
Excellent analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful.
Ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Experience using Click UP/ JIRA / Zoho /Atlassian/ Slack workflow will be preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Understanding of business processes of trade, logistics, supply chain, E-commerce, and transport will be an added advantage.
Project management background/experience.
PMP and/or ITIL certifications (desired, not required)
Knowledge of PMI / PRINCE2 methodology.
