Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Warehouse Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server, well-known BI tools, and design and working knowledge of data warehouses. The Senior Data Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for leading a team, implementing data warehouse best practices, and ensuring optimal performance and scalability of our data systems. Candidates with project management skills and experience in the FMCG industry will have an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Warehouse Design & Development:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouses.
- Implement data models and database structures based on best practices.
- Optimize data flow and collection for enhanced data storage and retrieval efficiency.
2. SQL Server Expertise:
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes.
- Ensure the efficient handling and transformation of large datasets.
- Troubleshoot SQL server performance issues and optimize database operations.
3. BI Tools & Reporting:
- Utilize well-known BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data visualization and reporting.
- Design and develop insightful, user-friendly dashboards and reports.
- Provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations for business decisions.
4. Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of data warehouse engineers and developers.
- Delegate tasks, oversee project timelines, and ensure the successful delivery of data solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and foster a collaborative working environment.
5. Project Management:
- Lead data-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with business objectives.
- Manage timelines, resources, and communication with stakeholders.
- Monitor project risks and ensure that deliverables meet quality standards.
6. Best Practices & Standards:
- Stay up to date with data warehouse best practices and new technologies.
- Implement and enforce standards for data governance, security, and compliance.
- Continuously improve and optimize data warehouse processes and architecture.
